Mohd. Asab from Uttar Pradesh and Anushka Singh Bhati from Rajasthan clinched the men’s and women’s national titles, respectively, at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun) held near New Delhi. Asab secured the men’s double trap gold with a total of 101 hits, while Anushka claimed the women’s title with 77 hits. The event witnessed high-quality performances across various categories.
In the men’s double trap, Ankur Mittal of ONGC won the silver medal with 99 hits, followed by Ketan Bhimjibhai Patel of Gujarat who took bronze with 90 hits. Meanwhile, Varsha Varman of Madhya Pradesh secured the silver in the women’s category after a shoot-off, with Yeshaya Hafiz Contractor from Gujarat settling for bronze. Yeshaya also excelled in the women’s junior and youth categories, winning gold in both.
Punjab’s Bhai Shiraz Singh Sidhu emerged as the junior men’s champion, securing gold after a tie at the top. The youth men’s gold went to Manavrajinsinh Rajendrasinh Chudasama of Gujarat. The championships concluded with over 17,000 participants showcasing their skills in rifle, pistol, and shotgun events across different age groups.
