MoS Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada recently opened the Global Business Research Conference (GBRC) 2026 at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). The conference gathered experts from various fields to discuss current challenges and opportunities in the global business landscape.
Eminent academicians, policymakers, educators, researchers, and industry specialists from India and abroad participated in the event. The conference included Directors’ Conclaves on topics like internationalization strategies for business schools, artificial intelligence in management education, and innovation in higher education.
The GBRC showcased research contributions across multiple disciplines such as finance, marketing, global trade, operations management, information technology, and public policy. Additionally, doctoral scholars engaged with senior academics and experts to enhance research quality and collaboration.
Minister Jitin Prasada highlighted India’s advancements in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and global trade partnerships. Despite global uncertainties, India continues to be among the fastest-growing economies globally, driven by a long-term vision focused on trade, manufacturing, innovation, and technology under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
The minister praised IIFT for its research-driven insights and role in shaping future business leaders to bolster India’s global market integration. He expressed optimism that the discussions at GBRC 2026 would offer valuable insights for policymaking and India’s economic development.
IIFT’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, emphasized the institute’s expanded research footprint and international collaborations, positioning it as a center of excellence in international business education and policy research.
