In the aftermath of the recent all-party meeting on West Asia, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra and BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo shared their views on India’s diplomatic position and regional security. Patra highlighted historical instances in regional diplomacy, emphasizing India’s growing international role. He mentioned the significance of India’s maritime security efforts, ensuring safe passage for Indian ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, he outlined the meeting’s agenda, focusing on diplomacy, India’s stance on the West Asia conflict, and energy security concerns.
During the meeting, Opposition parties raised questions regarding India’s role in the West Asia conflict and the country’s energy security, particularly concerning oil and natural gas availability. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s remarks were met with reactions from SP MP Virendra Singh, who emphasized India’s distinct position compared to Pakistan in international affairs. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo criticized Pakistan for alleged diplomatic interference, urging the country to address its internal issues before meddling in global affairs.
