Mumbai experienced continuous heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, with the eastern suburbs receiving the most precipitation, leading to widespread waterlogging and disruptions in various parts of the city.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation reported rainfall of 134 mm in Mumbai City, 164 mm in the Eastern Suburbs, and 149 mm in the Western Suburbs between 8:00 a.m. on July 1 and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Notable locations severely affected by the heavy rainfall include Mitha Municipal School in Mulund, S Ward Office, Paspoli Municipal School in Powai, Gavanpada Fire Station, and Mankhurd Fire Station in the eastern suburbs.
In the western suburbs, SWM Santacruz Workshop, Narialwadi School in Santacruz, Andheri Fire Station, Cooper Hospital, and the K-West Ward Office faced significant rainfall, causing further disruptions.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad, predicting moderate to intense rainfall in isolated areas over the next few hours. Authorities are on high alert due to the risk of waterlogging, poor visibility, and traffic disruptions.
