A mysterious blast occurred outside a house in Gawala Talab village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. The blast damaged the gate and compound wall of the Sarpanch named Jai Ram Sharma’s house, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
Police and forensic teams have collected samples from the blast site for further analysis. An FIR has been lodged at the local police station regarding the blast. The international border in the region, guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF), spans 240 km across Samba, Kathua, and Jammu districts.
The BSF is actively monitoring the border to prevent activities like infiltration, exfiltration, drug smuggling, and drone incursions from the Pakistan side. Terror groups, with support from Pakistan, have been using drones to drop arms, ammunition, cash, and drugs into Indian territory. To counter this threat, the BSF has deployed advanced anti-drone technology along the border.
Apart from the international border, Jammu and Kashmir also has a 740 km Line of Control (LoC) in various districts, guarded by the Army. The LoC runs through Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora in the Valley, and Poonch, Rajouri, and parts of Jammu district in the Jammu division.
