Veteran actor Nana Patekar highlighted the significance of exercising one’s democratic right as he arrived to vote in the Maharashtra local body elections. He stressed that voting is a crucial aspect of civic engagement, urging citizens to participate in the electoral process. Nana revealed that he traveled for several hours to reach the polling booth and cast his vote.
Elections are currently underway in various municipal corporations across major cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and others. Polling for the 29 municipal corporations commenced at 7.30 a.m. and will continue until 5.30 p.m., with the vote counting scheduled for January 16.
Nana Patekar, known for his acting roles, was last seen in the movie Housefull 5, part of the popular Housefull franchise. The film, a murder mystery comedy, features a star-studded cast and revolves around impostors vying for a deceased billionaire’s fortune on a luxury cruise ship. Upcoming for Nana is a role in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer O’ Romeo, an action thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and set to release on February 14.
