Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak at a large rally organized by the West Bengal BJP unit at Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata. The event, marking the culmination of the party’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in the state, coincides with the upcoming Assembly elections.
The rally will feature two programs at Brigade Parade Ground, with separate platforms for administrative and political speeches. The Prime Minister will inaugurate various central government projects in West Bengal virtually from the administrative platform before delivering his political address.
Tight security measures have been implemented in central Kolkata, with the rally ground and surrounding areas designated as a “No-Fly Zone.” Drones are strictly prohibited during the event, and security personnel are stationed on high-rise buildings to monitor the situation closely.
Around 3,000 security personnel have been deployed for the rally, with zone-wise security arrangements overseen by deputy commissioners and a joint commissioner. Additional police officers will also be present on the streets during the event.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has put up posters demanding payment of outstanding dues under central government schemes, while the BJP has flooded the city with posters and cutouts of the Prime Minister ahead of the rally.
