A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik Police has summoned Mateen Patel, an AIMIM corporator, for questioning in connection with the high-profile harassment case at the Nashik BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Patel is being investigated under Section 35(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code for his alleged assistance to the accused, Nida Khan.
The Nashik Police recently filed a 1,500-page chargesheet against the accused in the case, with a total of nine FIRs registered. The chargesheet, filed in one case so far, revealed evidence of forced religious conversion and the alteration of the victim’s name and identity by the accused.
The chargesheet names Danish Ejaz Shaikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan, and AIMIM leader Mateen Patel as the accused, all of whom are currently not granted bail. The investigation, which includes digital and technical evidence such as WhatsApp chat screenshots, is ongoing to ensure justice in the case that has sparked widespread attention and outrage in Maharashtra.
