The National Commission for Women has issued summons to actors Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, among others, regarding the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke.” Acting on its powers under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, the Commission has taken note of media reports alleging obscenity and vulgarity in the song. The content is deemed sexually suggestive, objectionable, and potentially in violation of various laws.
Summons have also been sent to lyricist Raqueeb Alam, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Group, and director Kiran Kumar. They are required to appear before the Commission on March 24, 2026, at 12:30 PM with relevant documents. Failure to comply may result in legal action. Earlier, on March 17, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had issued a notice regarding objectionable lyrics in another song.
Nora Fatehi addressed the issue on social media, explaining her stance. She distanced herself from the project upon realizing the song’s implications due to its lyrics. Initially unaware of the song’s meaning, she chose to withdraw from any further association with the song, including its promotion.
