A guided tour and expert talk on biodiversity marked the start of the National Zoological Park’s Summer Vacation Programme 2026 in Delhi-NCR. Zoo Director Sanjeet Kumar emphasized the importance of involving young minds in biodiversity conservation through modern technologies. The program, aligned with the World Environment Day theme, aims to raise awareness on biodiversity conservation, climate action, and sustainable living among students.
A total of 854 students registered online for the program, with 60 participants selected on a first-come, first-served basis. On the first day, 39 students from 15 schools participated in the session with enthusiasm. The program includes activities like wildlife photography, art and craft, heritage walks, and expert talks on biodiversity.
The Summer Vacation Programme is divided into two slots, each accommodating 50 students. The schedule features educational and creative activities such as slogan writing, poster-making competitions, and cleanliness awareness campaigns. The program, running from May 21 to June 6, targets students from Classes VI to XII for experiential learning and conservation education.
