Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reassured that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will remain the voice of Odisha for the next century. Patnaik made this statement during the 29th Foundation Day celebration of the BJD at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

Patnaik emphasized that the BJD is not just about individual leaders but a movement representing the aspirations and pride of the people of Odisha. He highlighted the party’s deep connection with the identity and self-respect of Odisha’s residents.

Stressing the significance of the BJD as a people’s movement, Patnaik underscored its role in fulfilling the hopes and dreams of every Odia. He praised the party’s track record since 1997, citing its service to Odisha guided by the principles of Biju Patnaik.

Patnaik lauded the BJD’s governance from 2000 to 2024 as a “golden era” for Odisha’s development. He outlined the government’s achievements in poverty alleviation, healthcare, agriculture, economy, and youth employment. Patnaik also criticized the present BJP-led state government, questioning its development claims and highlighting issues like crime against women and youth safety.

Addressing the party’s young members, Patnaik encouraged them to actively engage in social media to counter misinformation about the BJD. He expressed confidence in their dedication and urged them to work towards a stronger Odisha for the future.
