The NCP core committee, led by Sunetra Pawar, has claimed Raigad, Pune, and Parbhani seats for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council polls on June 18. The party, along with Praful Patel and others, aims to contest all 17 seats collectively with the Maha Yuti alliance. Discussions on seat-sharing among BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP are in the final stages.
Tatkare expressed confidence in resolving the deadlock over seat-sharing by the next day. The final decision on seat allocations and candidates is expected by Saturday afternoon. The NCP is eager to contest Raigad, Pune, and Parbhani, focusing on candidates’ party contributions and abilities.
The core committee plans to decide on nominees after final seat-sharing arrangements are conveyed by the CM. Aniket Tatkare is a frontrunner for the Raigad seat nomination. The NCP’s recent National Executive list release caused confusion but was later clarified to include veteran leaders in key roles.
