In the Baramati bye-elections, Sunetra Pawar, the NCP candidate and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, is in the lead with over 8800 votes after the first round of counting. Out of 27,264 votes counted, Pawar has secured 26,773 votes, while all other candidates combined have 491 votes.
Meanwhile, in the Rahuri assembly constituency of Maharashtra, Akshay Shivajirao Kardile from the Bharatiya Janata Party is currently leading with 11,071 votes as per the Election Commission of India’s latest update.
The bypolls, conducted on April 9 and April 23 in various states including Maharashtra, were necessitated by the demise of sitting MLAs, resulting in closely contested battles between major political parties.
