After the NDA revealed its three candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar, state BJP president Sanjay Saraogi expressed confidence in securing victory on all five seats. The BJP central leadership named Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar Ram as party candidates. Additionally, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) designated its national president Upendra Kushwaha as an NDA-supported candidate.
Saraogi confirmed that the NDA would jointly contest all five seats, with the BJP and JD(U) each vying for two seats and RLM for one. Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar Ram are set to contest as NDA candidates, with Saraogi praising the BJP leadership for the opportunity given to Nitin Nabin.
The Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) is yet to announce its candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls. Saraogi responded to Sonia Gandhi’s call for a parliamentary debate on the Israel–USA and Iran conflict, stating his confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisions benefiting the nation. The current Bihar Assembly’s composition shows the NDA with 202 MLAs, requiring 41 votes to secure one Rajya Sabha seat.
