The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) expressed optimism about securing victory in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll in Bihar. The NDA, led by the BJP, is confident that its candidate, Abhishek Kumar Bunty, will emerge victorious. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad emphasized the unity within the NDA during the nomination process, stating that Bankipur has traditionally been a stronghold for them.
Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary took a dig at the Opposition, welcoming their participation in the electoral process. He highlighted the strong connection the BJP has with the Bankipur constituency and expressed confidence in seeking the people’s support. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary also expressed certainty in the victory of the BJP candidate.
Abhishek Kumar Bunty, the BJP candidate, pledged to take the accomplishments of the party’s leadership to every household in the constituency. The bypoll in Bankipur was triggered by the resignation of BJP leader Nitin Nabin, who had represented the constituency since 2006. Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has also entered the fray, terming the by-election as a “referendum” on the Bihar government’s performance.
The bypoll in Bankipur is scheduled to take place on July 30.
