The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) celebrated 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Union government, lauding it for focusing on people-centric development, participative democracy, and performance-oriented governance. The resolution was passed at a high-level NDA meeting in New Delhi, where allies praised PM Modi for being the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister with 4,399 days in office. India’s exceptional leadership continuity under PM Modi was highlighted, contrasting with the country’s history of 13 Prime Ministers in the previous 62 years.
Major structural reforms characterized the past 12 years, including the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), labor reforms, removal of outdated laws, banking sector recapitalization, and a significant decrease in non-performing assets. India’s transformation from one of the “Fragile Five” economies to one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies was also acknowledged by the NDA. The alliance credited the Modi government for fostering growth in sectors like semiconductors, renewable energy, drones, space technology, and advanced manufacturing.
The NDA highlighted advancements in digital infrastructure, particularly the success of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in digital finance globally. Infrastructure developments such as railway modernization, Vande Bharat trains, airport connectivity expansion under the UDAN scheme, and multimodal transport hub creation were also emphasized. The alliance pointed out initiatives like the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the PRAGATI platform, accelerating projects worth around Rs 90 lakh crore through enhanced coordination.
