The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) re-examination is currently taking place in Gujarat with stringent security measures in effect. Across the state, exam centers have opened under heavy police presence and multi-agency coordination to ensure a smooth conduct of the exam. The re-test, which is part of one of India’s largest competitive exams conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is being held nationwide at over 5,400 centers across 551 cities for nearly 22.79 lakh candidates.
In Vadodara, candidates faced emotional stress as they sat for the re-test due to earlier disruptions. One aspirant mentioned feeling increased mental pressure in this situation. District authorities in the state have put in place coordinated arrangements involving the education department, police, and health officials under the supervision of the District Collector to oversee the examination process. Officials have confirmed that the exam centers are under multi-layer security with surveillance and controlled access to ensure the exam’s smooth progress.
The NEET re-examination, which started at 2 p.m. and is scheduled to continue till 5:15 p.m., is being conducted with strict protocols including biometric authentication, CCTV surveillance, frisking, and document verification at entry points. Candidates were required to carry admit cards, valid photo identification, and adhere to strict dress code regulations as per the official guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency. Entry gates were closed at 1:30 p.m., with no late entries permitted once the exam commenced.
Authorities have also paid attention to logistical preparedness at the exam centers, ensuring seating arrangements, drinking water facilities, generator backup, and emergency medical support. Mock drills and pre-exam inspections were carried out in several regions to ensure the readiness of the centers and secure handling of exam materials. Officials are closely monitoring the exam centers in real-time to ensure transparency and immediate response to any irregularities, while candidates are undergoing the exam under tightly controlled conditions.
