After the NEET-UG 2026 exam cancellation due to a paper leak controversy, Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress President Shivraj More criticized the National Testing Agency (NTA), labeling it as a “Non-Trustable Agency.” The NTA is responsible for conducting national-level exams for undergraduate medical course admissions.
More expressed concerns over the repeated paper leaks, citing 60 to 65 incidents in the last five years. He emphasized the impact on students’ morale, especially those dedicating years to exam preparation.
Pointing out the financial strain on parents who often take loans or mortgage jewelry for coaching fees, More highlighted the mental health challenges faced by students. The rescheduling of the exam adds to the mental and financial burden on families.
Moreover, More raised questions about the misuse of taxpayers’ money, estimating a government expenditure of around Rs 400 crore on these exams. He stressed the need for stringent laws to deter such malpractices and alleged the involvement of “rackets” in the leaks.
