Nepal achieved back-to-back wins against the USA and Scotland, with their bowlers playing a crucial role. Dipendra Singh Airee, an experienced all-rounder, notably claimed a four-wicket haul against the USA, leading to a three-spot rise to 79th in the ODI bowlers’ list and a three-place climb to 25th among ODI all-rounders.
Nepal’s spin pair also saw improvements, with Sandeep Lamichhane moving up six positions to jointly hold 36th place and Lalit Rajbanshi ascending 16 spots to jointly hold 53rd in the latest ODI bowlers’ rankings. Despite these advancements, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan maintains his dominance in the ODI bowlers’ rankings with an impressive 705 rating points, while Azmatullah Omarzai from the same team remains the top-ranked all-rounder in ODIs.
Scotland’s Brandon McMullen has shown progress, rising two places to sixth overall in the all-rounder list after a stellar 73 against Nepal. This innings also helped McMullen climb six positions to 53rd among ODI batters. Nepal’s batting performances have also been recognized, with Saiteja Mukkamalla moving up five spots to 61st and Aasif Sheikh climbing seven positions to jointly hold 86th in the updated ODI batters’ rankings.
In the top spots of the ODI batting rankings, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell retains the No.1 position, with Virat Kohli from India following closely. Ibrahim Zadran, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill complete the top five, with potential changes anticipated when India and Afghanistan face off in a three-match ODI series next month.
