A new Amrit Bharat Express train will start its journey from Charlapalli Station near Hyderabad to Kamakhya in Assam on March 13. This train will link Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with Assam, serving as a gateway to the seven sister states of the region. The train, equipped with sleeper and general second-class coaches, aims to provide safe, comfortable, and cost-effective travel for passengers heading to the northeastern parts of India.
The South Central Railway mentioned that the new train will stop at various stations in both directions, including Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram Junction, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, and more. Cherlapalli terminal station, inaugurated last year at a cost of Rs 413 crore, becomes the fifth terminus for Greater Hyderabad. Recently, a new Amrit Bharat Express train connecting Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu and Charlapalli was also announced to enhance connectivity between Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
The Amrit Bharat Express is known for its popularity among middle-class and common passengers, offering a fast, safe, and comfortable travel experience. These indigenous trains, developed by Indian Railways, contribute to economic growth by boosting tourism, trade, and employment opportunities. Equipped with advanced features like semi-automatic couplers, fire detection systems, and sealed gangways, these trains symbolize modernization in the national railway system.
