The Ticket Checking Section at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) achieved a significant milestone in May 2026, surpassing Rs 2.08 crore in earnings. This accomplishment marks the highest monthly revenue ever recorded by any section within the Northeast Frontier Railway. NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, attributed this success to the dedication and professionalism of the ticket checking staff in ensuring ticket compliance and revenue protection.
The achievement underscores operational excellence and effective revenue protection measures implemented by NFR. Through sustained ticket checking efforts, enforcement activities, and teamwork in North Bengal, the NJP section achieved this record-breaking performance. According to CPRO Sharma, the section maintained a daily earning average of over Rs 6.54 lakh in May, with the highest single-day earning exceeding Rs 9.65 lakh on May 9, 2026.
