New Zealand has decided to bat first against England in their Group 2 Super 8s match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. England has made a change in their playing XI, with Rehan Ahmed replacing Jamie Overton. On the other hand, New Zealand has stuck with the same XI for stability.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner expressed the team’s strategy, emphasizing the importance of winning games to secure a World Cup victory. He mentioned the need to adapt to the pitch conditions and utilize tactical advantages. Santner highlighted the team’s readiness for the challenge ahead.

England captain Harry Brook shared his thoughts, stating that they would have also chosen to bat first. He acknowledged the challenge posed by New Zealand and emphasized the importance of playing with freedom and taking the game to the opposition. Brook highlighted the team’s focus on adapting to the conditions and aiming to put pressure on their opponents.
