Nine individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident when a speeding truck collided head-on with a van in Lakhimpur Kheri district, Uttar Pradesh. The collision, which occurred near Sisaia on NH-730, resulted in the complete destruction of the van, leaving nine passengers dead on the spot and one seriously injured. The injured individual is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
The van, carrying around 10 passengers, was en route from Lakhimpur to Sisaia, while the truck was traveling from Bahraich. Local residents promptly alerted the authorities, who swiftly responded to the scene to conduct rescue operations. The police have taken custody of the deceased bodies for post-mortem examinations.
In a separate incident in Bahraich, four people lost their lives and two others sustained injuries following a collision between a car and a combine harvester. The injured individuals, in critical condition, have been hospitalized after the speeding car collided with a wheat-harvesting combine machine near Digha More in Brahmnipura. Police officials have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) D.P. Tiwari stated, “The bodies have been retrieved and sent for post-mortem examinations. The families of the deceased have been notified, and legal procedures are in progress.” Investigations into both accidents are ongoing, with further details awaited.
