NITI Aayog Member Prof. K.V. Raju has lauded Rajasthan as an “Achiever State” for its advancements in drinking water supply and rural development. He also highlighted the state’s potential in tourism, agriculture, mining, and solar energy, advocating for technology-driven databases to accurately measure their contribution to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).
Prof. Raju stressed the importance of continuous monitoring of government schemes, capacity building, and expanding surveys in the unorganized sector. He commended Rajasthan’s achievements in drinking water supply and rural development initiatives, emphasizing the need for integrating key sectors into GSDP calculations effectively.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma mentioned that Rajasthan is actively contributing to the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ through a district-based development model. He highlighted the state’s policies promoting industry, investment, and good governance, attracting substantial investments across various sectors. Sharma also noted the rapid expansion of Rajasthan’s startup ecosystem, generating employment and fostering innovation.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s efforts in conducting annual enterprise surveys in the unorganized sector, bringing traditional and small-scale enterprises into the formal economy. He cited examples such as the handicrafts industry in Churu, mustard-based enterprises in Bharatpur, and traditional tribal products from Banswara and Udaipur. Sharma emphasized the importance of district-specific innovations under the ‘Panch Gaurav’ initiative.
