Nitin Gadkari Applauds India-US Trade Deal as a Significant Step

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, praised the India-US trade deal as a crucial advancement in bilateral economic relations. The trade agreement, finalized with reduced tariffs at 18 per cent, is seen as a milestone fostering growth and collaboration between the two nations. Gadkari commended PM Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump for their leadership in achieving this historic outcome.

President Trump, following a conversation with PM Modi, announced that India would lower tariffs on US goods to 18 per cent and ease trade barriers. Trump also mentioned India’s commitment to increase purchases of US energy, technology, and agricultural products while ceasing to buy Russian oil. He emphasized that this agreement would enhance ties and support peace efforts, including those in Ukraine.

PM Modi expressed his delight in conversing with President Trump and welcomed the reduced tariffs on Indian products. He thanked President Trump on behalf of India’s population for this positive development. Modi highlighted the benefits of collaboration between the two largest democracies, emphasizing the vast opportunities it unlocks for mutual cooperation and prosperity.

The Prime Minister lauded President Trump’s leadership in promoting global peace, stability, and prosperity, affirming India’s full support for his peace initiatives. Modi expressed eagerness to elevate the partnership to new heights through close collaboration with President Trump.
