Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari highlighted the importance of dedicated leaders focusing on the welfare of villages, the poor, laborers, and farmers. He emphasized that India’s advancement relies on empowering these sectors. Speaking in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district, Gadkari inaugurated eight national highway projects valued at over Rs 4,400 crore. He called for leaders committed to serving the villages, the poor, the laborers, and the farmers to propel India towards becoming a global leader economically.
Gadkari praised India’s talent pool, citing the global success of Indian engineers, software professionals, and doctors. He mentioned that Indian professionals excel worldwide, with a significant presence in countries like the US and the UK. The minister stressed the significance of knowledge, encompassing innovation, entrepreneurship, science, technology, research, skills, and best practices.
Highlighting the potential of rural India, Gadkari envisioned a future where urban residents would return to villages. He advocated for the use of electric-powered agricultural equipment to reduce costs for farmers, pointing out the substantial fossil fuel imports. Seeking cooperation from former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gadkari commended efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chouhan to enhance farmers’ prosperity.
Gadkari assured support for demands from leaders like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and Rakesh Singh, using an analogy to emphasize his commitment to addressing their needs. He shared his past achievements in infrastructure development, highlighting the potential of farmers beyond traditional food production. The minister mentioned advancements in ethanol blending and local energy production, showcasing farmers’ role as energy providers.
The event, attended by dignitaries including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, aligned with broader rural development objectives, focusing on initiatives like smart villages and waste-to-wealth programs.
