Nitin Nabin assumed office as the BJP National President at the party headquarters in New Delhi, making him the youngest leader to hold this position. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Nabin on his new role.
During the organizational event, outgoing BJP national chief J.P. Nadda, along with Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and National Returning Officer for BJP’s ‘Sangathan Parv’ K. Laxman, were present on stage. K. Laxman officially declared Nitin Nabin as the new BJP National President and presented him with the election certificate.
Nitin Nabin was declared as the sole candidate for the National President post by the BJP, following the nomination process without any other contenders. This paved the way for his uncontested election as the party’s 12th national chief. Nabin, who is 45 years old and was appointed as the National Working President on December 14 last year, garnered strong support from the top BJP leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and outgoing party President J.P. Nadda.
Several senior BJP leaders, Chief Ministers, and representatives from various states expressed their support for Nabin by submitting endorsement papers earlier, indicating a solid organizational consensus. As the only candidate, Nabin was formally elected by the electoral college, which consists of members from the BJP’s national council and state councils.
Nitin Nabin’s elevation is viewed as a strategic decision to introduce youthful leadership into the party structure while maintaining continuity.
