The festival of Holi brought colors and joy to the Northeastern region as Governors and Chief Ministers took part in the celebrations. In Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Lt Gen K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) marked the occasion with the Brahma Kumaris at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar, emphasizing the importance of peace and harmony in society. Across the region, people from diverse communities enthusiastically participated in the vibrant festival.
In Tripura, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu celebrated Holi at Lok Bhavan in Agartala, joined by staff, children, officers, and employees. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha extended warm greetings to the state’s people on Dol Purnima and Holi, wishing for joy, harmony, and mental peace for all. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the unifying values of love and togetherness during Holi, urging collective efforts for progress and prosperity.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also joined the Holi and Doul Utsav celebrations at Barpeta Satra, extending greetings to the people. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya celebrated Holi with Assam Rifles troops in Silchar, appreciating their dedication to national security. Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh shared the festive spirit of Holi celebrations at his residence, filled with color, music, and joy.
