Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar to assess arrangements for the upcoming Ratha Yatra festival. Stressing on coordination and safety measures, he emphasized the need for efficient communication to ensure a smooth festival. Majhi highlighted the importance of timely rituals, security, crowd management, and fire safety during the event.
The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain close coordination and communication at all levels to prevent any gaps. He underlined the role of experienced officers in the successful management of the Ratha Yatra. Emphasizing continuous information sharing among officers, Majhi urged senior officials to prevent any communication breakdown.
Security arrangements, including cordon management, women’s safety, and surveillance, were thoroughly reviewed by the Chief Minister. Around 12,000 police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces will be deployed for security. The Indian Coast Guard and Navy will also be on alert. Additionally, 19 senior IPS officers will supervise security measures during the festival.
To enhance safety, 473 CCTV cameras have been installed, and 65 LED screens will provide information in multiple languages. Communication services have been strengthened with mobile towers and bulk messaging facilities. The government will set up help desks at the temple for elderly and differently-abled devotees. Various facilities, including bio-toilets, hospitals, and parking areas, have been arranged for devotees’ convenience.
