Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi praised the Centre’s accomplishments and the impact of the “double-engine government” in driving the state’s progress. He marked June 9 as a significant day in India’s democratic journey, acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming milestone as the longest-serving democratically elected head of government in the country. Chief Minister Majhi credited PM Modi’s leadership in navigating global challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic and maintaining robust economic growth.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Majhi conveyed gratitude and best wishes to PM Modi on behalf of Odisha’s population. He highlighted India’s emergence as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, achieving a growth rate of 7.7% in the Financial Year 2025-26 despite disruptions in global supply chains. Referring to PM Modi as ‘Vikash Purush’, the Chief Minister emphasized achievements in renewable energy, semiconductor development, digital infrastructure, and national security, underscoring India’s self-reliance and anti-terrorism stance.
Chief Minister Majhi also commended India’s assistance to developing nations through the “Vaccine Maitri” initiative, positioning the country as a global friend. He emphasized the improved coordination between the Centre and Odisha government in implementing central schemes and expediting development projects. The Chief Minister highlighted significant railway allocations, port and maritime projects, national highway developments, and initiatives in agriculture, rural development, and healthcare that have propelled Odisha’s progress.
