Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has decided to cut in half the number of vehicles in his personal security convoy following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to address the fuel crisis linked to the West Asia conflict. The Chief Minister’s Office stated that Chief Minister Majhi also urged citizens to use public transport instead of private vehicles to conserve fuel.
In alignment with PM Modi’s plea to reduce fuel consumption amidst the global fuel crisis, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the significance of the Prime Minister’s initiative and advised people in the state to limit personal vehicle usage. He encouraged the public to opt for public transport and to reserve vehicle usage for essential purposes only.
Following PM Modi’s lead in downsizing his convoy, various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, and Maharashtra, have also announced reductions in their convoy vehicles. PM Modi, during a BJP public meeting in Secunderabad, emphasized the need for citizens to contribute collectively to safeguard the Indian economy from the repercussions of the West Asia conflict.
