The Government of Odisha has issued an urgent order granting free bus travel to all students participating in the NEET (UG) Re-exam 2026. The re-examination, organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is scheduled for June 21, 2026, at 134 centers in Odisha, expecting 56,983 candidates. Students can utilize the free bus services by presenting their valid admit cards.
This initiative, endorsed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is aimed at mitigating the risk of heatstroke, assisting economically disadvantaged students, and ensuring fair access to exam venues. The order emphasizes the importance of providing free bus travel to NEET (UG) Re-exam 2026 candidates for these reasons. The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) Chairman-cum-Managing Director and the Transport Commissioner of the State Transport Authority (STA) have been instructed to promptly implement the directive in coordination with relevant authorities.
Governments in Uttarakhand and Delhi have also announced complimentary travel in state Transport Corporation buses for permanent residents appearing in the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination on June 21. The NEET-UG 2026, a qualifying exam for MBBS courses, initially held on May 3, was annulled by the National Testing Agency due to alleged irregularities, leading to a CBI investigation into the matter.
