The Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a minor girl in the Chandbali area of Bhadrak district. He emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those responsible for the crime. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also conveyed his sadness and directed authorities to ensure a comprehensive inquiry and strict legal action against the culprits.
The 11-year-old girl, who went missing after leaving for school, was found dead with multiple injuries behind the Panchayat Office in Chandbali. This incident sparked outrage among residents, leading to protests demanding immediate justice. Tension persisted in the area until the district administration and police intervened, promising stringent measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
In response to the situation, the Bhadrak Police swiftly arrested the accused in Jagatsinghpur district following a case of murder and sexual assault filed by the victim’s father. Meanwhile, opposition parties, BJD and Congress, announced plans for a Chandbali bandh to address concerns over law and order and seek financial support for the victim’s family.
