Opposition parties in Maharashtra, including Congress and NCP(SP), have strongly criticized the ruling government over the leak of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) question paper just a day before the scheduled exam. The political uproar ensued after reports emerged that the TET exam paper was leaked in Thane, the hometown of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President, Harshwardhan Sapkal, has warned of protests if strict action is not taken against those responsible.
The Congress state chief accused the BJP-led alliance of incompetence, highlighting the government’s failure to conduct secure examinations. Sapkal questioned the political connections behind the recurring exam malpractices, emphasizing the distress caused to students and parents due to leaked papers. He criticized the government’s claims of transparent governance, pointing out the continuous cycle of paper leaks.
Sapkal expressed concern over the impact of leaked papers on the future of students, noting that the issue has become synonymous with the government’s identity. He demanded a permanent solution to eradicate the paper-leak menace and criticized the government for its lack of integrity in conducting basic recruitment tests. The opposition leaders stressed the need for concrete actions to address the issue and protect the interests of the state’s youth.
