The alleged rape and murder of a five-year-old girl in Bihar’s Khagaria district has led to widespread outrage. Angry residents staged a massive protest, forcibly entering the district collectorate and blocking the main road, disrupting normal life. The incident took place in the Gangaur police station area of Khagaria, where the girl was reportedly abducted by unidentified individuals on Wednesday.
Enraged family members and villagers demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and the removal of the local Station House Officer (SHO), citing police inaction. Protesters, including the victim’s family members, marched to the district collectorate, raising slogans against the police administration and causing traffic disruptions on Kacheri Road.
Chanting slogans and expressing frustration over the delay in arrests, the protesters accused the police of negligence. Police officials mentioned that the crime was committed by unknown persons, and an investigation has been initiated by the Khagaria police. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed to identify the perpetrators.
The situation remains tense as public anger grows, pressuring the administration to take prompt action. The district police have increased security in the village and at the collectorate to address the escalating tensions.
