Pakistan has been engaging in a deceptive narrative campaign against India, aiming to tarnish its image. This campaign comes as a response to Field Marshal Asim Munir’s struggles to establish his legacy following setbacks like Operation Sindoor, where Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure. The spread of false information intensified as Pakistan faced diplomatic failures and challenges in Afghanistan.
An Intelligence Bureau official highlighted that internal proxies, especially Jaish-e-Mohammad, openly doubted Pakistan’s Army and ISI capabilities after Indian forces dismantled their headquarters. This skepticism pushed Asim Munir to propagate a fake narrative against India to divert attention from internal criticisms. Despite some success, Pakistan’s global reputation suffered as its foreign policy initiatives crumbled.
Asim Munir’s ambitions faced a setback in Afghanistan, where attempts to influence the Taliban failed, leading to strained relations with India. Pakistan’s claims of Afghan Taliban support for TTP attacks were refuted, triggering further tensions. To bolster its narrative, Pakistan established the Himalayan Institute of Research and Policy Studies (HIRPS) to project anti-India propaganda globally.
In a bid for global recognition, Pakistan devised the Strategic Communication Master Plan 2025 (STRATCOM 2025) to launch English-language media platforms promoting its false narratives. Channels like AsiaOne News and DM News English were established post-Operation Sindoor to amplify Pakistan’s agenda. However, these efforts have not gained traction, with global media outlets increasingly questioning Pakistan’s credibility.
Pakistan’s attempts to broker peace between Iran and the US faltered, highlighting its diminishing influence on the global stage. Asim Munir’s desperate quest for international attention through media outlets like FP92TV and AsiaOne News reflects Pakistan’s struggle to shape a favorable narrative. Despite suppressing local media, Pakistan’s narrative continues to face skepticism and scrutiny both domestically and internationally.
