Pakistan’s head coach, Sarfaraz Ahmed, expressed frustration with his players after the team’s 2-0 defeat in Bangladesh. Following a similar loss two years ago, Sarfaraz criticized the players for focusing on individual performances rather than team success. He emphasized the need for players to prioritize the team over personal achievements.
Sarfaraz highlighted the lack of significant runs from Pakistan’s batters during the series, with only one player managing to score a century. He urged the senior players to take more responsibility and criticized the team’s regression compared to other cricketing nations.
Concerns were also raised about skipper Shan Masood’s leadership on the field, particularly regarding decision-making and review-taking. Pakistan’s failure to review crucial moments in the match, such as Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das’ dismissals, contributed to Bangladesh’s strong comeback in the series.
Despite the disappointing performance, Sarfaraz is expected to continue as head coach for the upcoming tour of the West Indies. However, Shan Masood is likely to be replaced as captain due to a string of defeats in Tests, with Agha Salman being considered a potential successor.
