One person died, and over 26 individuals sustained injuries in two separate bus accidents in Uttarakhand on Monday. The first incident occurred in Haridwar’s Saptarishi area, where a bus carrying pilgrims overturned, causing the death of a woman and injuries to 26 others. The passengers, who had come from Rajasthan, were returning home after a holy dip in the Ganga when the driver lost control of the bus during a reversal maneuver.
Authorities responded swiftly to the accident, with police and emergency teams reaching the scene to transport the injured to nearby hospitals. The deceased, identified as 50-year-old Pushpakwar, was from Nagaur district in Rajasthan. In another accident in Tehri district, a bus traveling from Gangotri to Kedarnath overturned near Jaulangi village, resulting in injuries to several passengers. Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
While no fatalities were reported in the Tehri accident, investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of both incidents. The authorities are closely monitoring the injured passengers’ conditions to ensure appropriate care and support.
