Patanjali Ayurved Limited founder Acharya Balakrishna highlighted the significance of the Swadeshi movement, stating that it is not just an idea but a way of life. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the increasing global influence of Indian culture through his dedication to Swadeshi principles. Speaking at the National Swadeshi Festival in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, Acharya Balakrishna commended artisans from various states for showcasing the strength, diversity, and unity of Swadeshi products.

Acharya Balakrishna emphasized that realizing the vision of an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) hinges on embracing Swadeshi wholeheartedly. He urged people to prioritize indigenous goods over foreign-made products, especially in areas where advanced technology is not essential, to bolster local businesses and promote self-respect. The promotion of Swadeshi items is seen as a means to boost small-town economies and foster a sense of national pride and unity.

According to Acharya Balakrishna, the promotion of Swadeshi goods helps preserve values and cultural heritage, reinforcing the importance of the concept of ‘Swadeshi’. He stressed that self-respect and prosperity are intertwined with the adoption of Swadeshi products, underscoring the role of indigenous goods in nation-building and economic growth.
