Paul McCartney, the legendary Beatles icon, serenaded Taylor Swift and her husband Travis Kelce at their wedding reception with the classic hit ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’. The star-studded event took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.
Following the ceremony, Taylor’s mother Andrea welcomed guests into the reception area where the stage was set up, according to a source cited by ‘People’. Stevie Nicks, a longtime friend and mentor to Swift, also took the stage to perform.
Swift, 36, and McCartney have openly expressed their admiration for each other. They previously graced the cover of Rolling Stone together in 2020. Recently, Swift shared McCartney’s Instagram post praising his new album, ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’, calling him an “eternally exceptional artist” and expressing her continuous inspiration from him.
In an interview, McCartney acknowledged the parallel between Swift’s global fame and his own, stating that he believes Swift doesn’t need advice on handling fame. However, he mentioned that he would gladly offer guidance if she sought it, considering himself as a mentor figure to the younger generation of artists.
According to ‘People’, McCartney disclosed that he had met Swift, along with other rising stars like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, at gatherings hosted by his wife, Nancy Shevell, and daughter, Stella McCartney. He commended their talent and expressed willingness to provide advice if needed, although he believed they were already on the right path.
