Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to unveil the official website of the Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav during a two-day national conclave of trade leaders in New Delhi. The event, organized by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), will gather about 150 trade leaders, business associations, MSMEs, startups, and industry stakeholders from across India. They will discuss Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seven strategic steps in response to global changes and the ongoing West Asia crisis.
The conclave’s aim, as stated by CAIT, is to chart a detailed plan for implementing the Prime Minister’s initiatives within the business community. It also seeks to enhance the role of traders and domestic industries in fostering a resilient and self-reliant economy. Delhi MP Praveen Khandelwal highlighted that the discussions will revolve around bolstering domestic supply chains, cutting logistics expenses, promoting local manufacturing, boosting exports, and advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Among the key highlights of the conclave is the launch of the Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav website, a collaborative effort between the India Trade Promotion Organisation and CAIT. This initiative aims to support indigenous products, reinforce the “Vocal for Local, Local to Global” campaign, and facilitate increased exports of Indian goods globally. The Bhartiya Vyapar Mahotsav is envisioned as a nationwide movement to showcase India’s manufacturing prowess, traditional products, innovation ecosystem, and entrepreneurial vigor.
Furthermore, the event will explore strategies to position India as a reliable global sourcing and supply-chain hub amidst global trade uncertainties and geopolitical tensions. Attendees, including trade leaders, are expected to endorse a collective resolution in support of the Prime Minister’s vision for economic resilience, robust domestic commerce, and self-reliance, as India continues its rapid economic growth trajectory.
