Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to veteran Congress leader V.D. Satheesan for being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Kerala. PM Modi conveyed his best wishes for Satheesan’s tenure and assured the Central Government’s support for the new Kerala government. The oath-taking ceremony at Central Stadium witnessed enthusiastic celebrations as Satheesan assumed office as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala, marking the return of a Congress-led UDF government after a decade.

A wave of excitement filled the stadium as Satheesan’s name was announced by Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar, prompting cheers and flag-waving by party workers. The event held significant emotional and political significance as it signaled the Congress’ comeback to power in Kerala after the tenure of the late former Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy. The swearing-in ceremony, attended by national and state political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, highlighted the importance accorded to the Kerala victory by the Congress leadership.

The 21-member ministry, led by Satheesan, comprises representatives from various political parties, including Congress, IUML, Kerala Congress, and others. The presence of Chief Ministers from Congress-ruled states at the ceremony underscored the national significance attached to the Kerala government’s formation. The oath-taking event, witnessed by a large audience, symbolized a significant political moment for the state and its people, with hopes pinned on the new administration for fulfilling public aspirations.
