Prime Minister Narendra Modi supported the proposed changes to the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ Act, criticizing opposition parties for hindering what he called a significant move for women’s empowerment. Despite not achieving the required majority in Parliament for the Constitution Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation, PM Modi expressed confidence in public backing.

PM Modi vowed to eliminate obstacles to women’s reservation, cautioning that those opposing it were underestimating Indian women’s determination. He condemned the behavior of opposition members during the debate, accusing them of rejoicing in denying women’s rights and disrespecting their dignity.

Highlighting the importance of the amendment, PM Modi emphasized its aim to ensure balanced development across all regions without disadvantaging any state or group. He accused the Congress and its allies of obstructing the Bill in Parliament, likening their opposition to “foeticide” of a transformative reform.

PM Modi assured that the proposed changes would not affect regional representation proportions but increase seats proportionately for fairness. He criticized the Congress as an “anti-reform” party, alleging their strategy of delaying crucial initiatives, while expressing willingness to let the Opposition take credit for justice for women.
