Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Gujarat’s industrial growth and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) recent triumph in the state’s local body elections during a speech in Jamnagar. He emphasized Gujarat’s transformation under BJP rule over the past two decades, attributing it to the party’s sustained support from multiple generations. PM Modi commended BJP workers for their efforts in securing a significant victory in the local polls.
Gujarat’s progress from a salt-producing state to a hub for manufacturing semiconductor chips, metro coaches, and modern railway engines was lauded by the Prime Minister. He highlighted the state’s advancements in renewable energy and environmental initiatives, underscoring its role in India’s green energy expansion. PM Modi also addressed the political situation in West Bengal, expressing solidarity with the state and criticizing the opposition for lacking vision for the youth.
In addition to discussing Gujarat’s development, PM Modi mentioned the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Somnath Temple’s ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony. He paid tribute to leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Rajendra Prasad for their contributions to the temple’s reconstruction. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the historical significance of May 10 as the anniversary of India’s First War of Independence in 1857.
