Dhanlakshmi, another diaspora member, felt honored by the visit and hoped for Indian government support in the temple’s infrastructure development due to the countries’ strong bilateral relationship.
During his State visit to Seychelles, PM Modi attended the National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour. The celebrations included Seychelles’ soldiers parachuting into the venue with their national flags, marking the 50th anniversary of the nation’s independence. India and Seychelles share a longstanding partnership based on historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties, as highlighted by the Ministry of External Affairs. Seychelles holds significance in India’s Vision ‘MAHASAGAR’ and commitment to the Global South as a key maritime neighbor in the Indian Ocean region.
PM Modi was honored with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ award, Seychelles’ highest distinction for leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. The award recognized PM Modi’s efforts towards sustainable growth and his environmental vision. Additionally, PM Modi addressed the National Assembly of Seychelles and engaged in talks with President Patrick Herminie during his visit.
