Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the BJP-led Odisha government for its progress, stating that under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s leadership, the state is advancing rapidly in development. He emphasized the implementation of welfare schemes benefiting the populace and the state’s growth in economic activities and industrial investments. PM Modi highlighted the Central Government’s vision of overall Indian development through the advancement of eastern India, emphasizing the policy of Purvodaya.
Odisha’s vast resources, including a long coastline, rich minerals, and a talented youth population, were acknowledged by PM Modi as key assets for development. He mentioned significant investments in railway infrastructure, road networks, ports, energy sectors, and modern industries in Odisha. The Prime Minister also unveiled major development projects worth nearly Rs 47,600 crore during the event, aimed at improving various sectors like healthcare, education, and transportation for the people of Odisha.
PM Modi emphasized the transformation of Odisha’s resources into opportunities, driving industrial growth in the state. He highlighted the reception of investment proposals worth around Rs 20 lakh crore under initiatives like Utkarsh Odisha, with ongoing mega projects exceeding Rs 3.5 lakh crore. The Prime Minister praised the direct outreach of the double-engine government to the citizens, facilitating the implementation of welfare and development schemes for the state’s progress.
Expressing confidence in Odisha’s potential, PM Modi pointed out the upcoming milestones of Odisha’s centenary in 2036 and India’s 100 years of Independence in 2047, aligning the state and country’s aspirations. He emphasized the importance of Odisha’s development in contributing to India’s progress, calling for collective efforts to elevate Odisha to new developmental heights. Additionally, PM Modi extended birthday wishes to President Droupadi Murmu, recognizing her journey from Mayurbhanj district to the highest constitutional position in the country.
