Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the PM MITRA Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, Telangana on May 10. The park, aimed at boosting manufacturing, employment, and exports, will be virtually inaugurated from Hyderabad. With an estimated cost of Rs 1,695.54 crore, the project anticipates investments exceeding Rs 6,000 crore, of which over Rs 3,800 crore has already been utilized.
Spread across 1,327 acres, the textile park in Warangal is one of the largest in the country and is part of the PM MITRA scheme as a brownfield project. Aligned with the government’s ‘5F’ vision, the park covers the entire textile value chain from farm to foreign, emphasizing strengthening the textile industry.
The park has already allotted about 62% of its area to anchor investors, with internal infrastructure like roads, water supply, and street lighting already in place. Major utilities, including a power substation and a transmission line, are nearing completion. Additionally, a water supply system and a common effluent treatment plant are in advanced stages.
Expected to create over 24,400 jobs upon full operation, the Warangal textile park has already generated around 2,000 jobs. With its strategic location and integrated ecosystem, the park is poised to become a significant contributor to textile manufacturing and employment in India. This initiative reflects the government’s efforts to enhance industrial infrastructure and position India as a global textile hub.
