Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to engage in 14 election-related events in West Bengal over the next month, starting from Siliguri in Darjeeling district and concluding with a grand road show in Bhabanipur, South Kolkata, as per BJP sources. The voting in Siliguri is scheduled for April 23, while Bhabanipur, witnessing a crucial contest between Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari, will go to polls on April 29.
The Prime Minister will participate in two programs in Kolkata, one in North Kolkata and the other in South Kolkata, with Bhabanipur being the likely choice due to the intense competition there. These events will include public meetings and roadshows. During his last rally in West Bengal at Brigade Parade Ground in Central Kolkata, PM Modi emphasized the inevitability of a change in the state government, echoing the sentiments of the people.
In addition to PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will join eight programs, comprising roadshows and public meetings. The BJP’s national president, Nitin Nabin, will address seven public meetings, while the Union Health Minister and former party president, J.P. Nadda, will speak at six public meetings during the campaign.
