As Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his successful visit to Sweden, the Ministry of External Affairs highlighted six key outcomes. Firstly, the elevation of India-Sweden relations to a Strategic Partnership, focusing on economic and security cooperation under various pillars. Secondly, the launch of the India-Sweden Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0, emphasizing collaboration in emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing.
The visit also saw an endorsement to jointly develop the India-Sweden Technology and Artificial Intelligence Corridor, aiming to enhance partnerships in technology and digital transformation. Additionally, there is a commitment to double bilateral economic exchange in the next five years, promoting business opportunities and the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Furthermore, the establishment of the India-Sweden SME and Start-up Platform aims to boost the startup ecosystem and create job opportunities.
Lastly, the institution of the ‘Tagore-Sweden’ Lecture Series aims to strengthen cultural ties and enhance India’s soft power. During the visit, PM Modi participated in the European Roundtable for Industry alongside Swedish counterpart Ulf Kristersson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, further solidifying ties between India and Sweden.
