PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss has criticized the West Bengal government for allegedly disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu during her recent visit to attend a program for the Santali tribal community. Anbumani accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government of not following proper protocol during the President’s visit.
The controversy arose from the President’s participation in the International Santali Tribal People’s Conference, which was moved last minute from Bidhannagar to Koshaypur near Bagdogra airport. This sudden change reportedly limited the attendance, especially of Santali tribal community members.
Anbumani Ramadoss claimed that political interference by the ruling Trinamool Congress government led to the change in venue and poor turnout, which he believes undermined the significance of the President’s visit. He also criticized the absence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee or any senior minister to receive the President at Bagdogra airport.
